We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to direct, manage, and coordinate new plastic product development per new and existing customer requirements.

Job Description

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Plans and implements engineering programs per customer requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
  • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Reviews product design and offers design assistance to customers in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Conducts Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments utilizing Moldflow or Moldex3D.
  • Represents the company with customers and vendors in a professional manner.

Job Requirements & Working Conditions

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. Plastics emphasis is highly desired.
  • 2-5 years of plastics injection molding industry experience and tooling background is a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, vendors, and employees of the organization.
  • Computer proficiency with engineering software programs (SolidWorks, MoldFlow, etc) and Microsoft Office is preferred. Experience with Delmiaworks (formerly IQMS) or related integrated manufacturing software is also preferred.
  • Knowledge of various thermoplastic materials to make resin recommendations is a plus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Accommodations may be made.
  • The noise level in the office work environment is low; when applicable the noise level in the production work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time to visit customers and suppliers.
  • This position works onsite daily at Kaysun’s main office in Manitowoc, WI. Remote work option is not available on a regular basis.
  • Must be authorized to legally work/reside in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
